DMS IISER Berhampur Department of Mathematics

The department is active in research in most areas of pure and applied mathematics, including Analytic & Algebraic Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Commutative Algebra, Quantum information and computation theory, Harmonic Analysis.

Doctoral students must successfully complete course work, qualifying examination, seminars, and a dissertation. Besides the mandatory requirements, students are encouraged to participate in several professional activities such as workshops, review meetings and conferences. All doctoral students are also expected to participate in the undergraduate teaching programme of the Institute as a part of their training.


The prospective PhD students must have a valid national level examination like NET/GATE/UGC-JRF/CSIR-JRF/NBHM or any other recognised score as a mandatory, apart from the minimum eligibility.
